CONCORD, NC (January 30, 2012) – Bubba
Pollard won 19 races in 2011, but beating NASCAR driver Kyle Busch in

Busch, who was making his first-ever start there, but Busch wasn’t
going to be denied. Busch made the final pass on lap 184 to finish

Busch Takes
His Third Speedfest Victory
In front of
a standing room only crowd at Watermelon Capitol Speedway, Kyle Busch
ran past the field to capture the win in the CRA Super Series
Speedfest 200. With 3 wide racing the first 3 laps out for 8 -
15 spots, followed by side-by-side racing for much of the first half
of the race, on lap 97, Jeff Fultz left the track and went into the
creek off of turn 3 after hitting an oil patch for a wild ride that
marked the end of the first half of the race. After the car was
pulled out of its perch, Fultz was able to drive it back to the track
and finished the race on the lead lap. On the re-start, Busch
took the lead from Bubba Pollard and there were several cautions and a
rolling red caused by a grass fire in the turn 3 grass outfield.
Kyle Busch went on to win the lead off race of the season past Bubba
Pollard and David Ragan who finished 2nd and 3rd. Race winner
Busch said, "It's awesome to come down to the south to see a full
Grandstand. Thanks to you all for coming out to see us race."

CRA SpeedFest 2012 Makes Last Minute Move to Georgia's Watermelon
Capital Speedway
Officials from Champion Racing Association (CRA) announced today the
move of one of racing's most anticipated events, "SpeedFest 2012"
from Lanier Speedway to Watermelon Capital Speedway,
in Cordele, GA, January 28-29, 2012. The event hosts the top Super
Late Models and Pro-Late Models in a traditional, annual pre-season
showdown. After developments earlier today, Monday, CRA officials
deemed the move necessary. CRA co-owner R. J. Scott explained the
need for the move: "As a company, we have a responsibility to put
the racers in the best position possible, and the promoter had a
different agenda than we did for the event...an agenda that we felt
was not right, where the racers were concerned. CRA just finished
its 15th year in business, and we plan to be around for many more
years. The current promoter at Lanier had made it known that he was
planning to get out of racing after SpeedFest, and we felt like he
had an agenda different than ours for the event. There is a limit to
what you can and/or should charge a racer for things, and you have
to draw the line somewhere. There are some necessary evils that
racers have to endure, but there is absolutely a LIMIT to what they
have to endure. It would have certainly been easier for us as
OFFICIALS to just continue the event Lanier, but in our opinion, it
would not have been the right thing for the RACERS."
