In 2007 de St Jean won the first Vore's Welding
and Steel CRA FWD Compact Championship after winning three of the season's eight
races. He has been an outspoken cheerleader for this class. The 2008
season started with de St Jean sidelined due an injury at work. Following
his recovery he returned to the previous season form winning the first race he
entered at Baer Field. In four races he had three Top 5 and Top 10
finishes with one victory.
